Legal Aid Urgent Briefing & Meeting

In addition Richard Miller from the Criminal Justice Committee at the Law Society will be attending Sheffield to discuss the current situation on 24th March – This is the note :

“Invitation to lunchtime meeting with Richard Miller, Law Society Head of Legal Aid for Solicitor Criminal Defence Practitioners – Monday 24th March – 12 noon for 12.15

The Ministry of Justice has announced its conclusions following consultation on fee cuts and procurement of criminal defence services. This meeting will explain to you the detail of what the Ministry of Justice has announced, what they mean to you and what the Law Society is saying and doing about it. We will talk about what is likely to happen over the next few months, and the issues you need to think about in planning your future.

Information will also be fed in from other events in the current series, which will provide guidance on the options that are available to you and your firm.”
