New Coronavirus Protocol for Crown Courts 8th April 2020

A New Protocol has been issued by the Northern East Circuit with a view to driving forward progress where possible in Crown Court Cases .

This requires all Solicitors and Counsel to review current Crown Court cases , to assess those capable of agreement and report back to the Court that reviews have taken place . The aim of this is to help Crown Courts identify cases where progress can be made .

It is hoped that everyone will comply with the protocol but there is proviison for non compliance courts if this protocol is ignored .
